ABOUT US

Realising Your Vision

DomNearyMusic

A service founded on the desire to help musicians and artists around the world realise their musical vision.

Only you know the musical vision you hope to achieve. We are here solely to help you to realise that vision. If requested we are happy to offer artistic input drawing from decades of experience.

We take the time to understand your vision, and have the skills to translate that vision into a professional finished product. We ensure the whole process is personal, easy, efficient and cost-effective.

We offer bespoke session, recording, mixing and additional music services that draw from the experience of Dom Neary. This experience is complemented by the talents of the extensive network of wonderful artists, musicians and technicians Dom has been lucky enough to meet through music over his 40-year playing career.

About Dom

Dom is a passionate and experienced keyboard player, musician and sound engineer. Collaboration with many talented artists over several decades led him to recognise that his greatest strength is to use his musical and technical skills to realise and enhance the musical vision of others. Hence the creation of DomNearyMusic.

Dom began playing keyboards at the age of 9. It all began when he secured his place as talented local organist Arnold Wills's first pupil by telling him "I want to do that" the first time he saw him performing on the organ at the local church. Under Arnold, and subsequently Norris Marshall on the organ, Dom became a highly-capable classical performer and accompanist on the piano and organ.

Ventures into the contemporary music world were not far behind, and Dom has since performed with a large number of artists across many genres since the 1980s in top end studios, on live BBC and independent radio, and of course on stage. He has a particular focus on his greatest passion - classic keyboards such as the Hammond Organ and Wurlitzer electric piano - inspired by many greats such as Jon Lord, Ian "Mac" MacLagan, Jimmy Smith, Ray Charles, and many, many more.

Alongside his performance career Dom grew intrigued by the entire recording process and has been running his own high-spec studio for over 10 years. Thanks to a good ear, strong musical and technical skills, an easy-going personality and an obsession for detail, his studio services have received rave reviews from clients across a wide range of genres.

The Studio

The Studio is housed within a converted 19th Century mews house in picturesque Stockbridge to the north of Edinburgh city centre. The studio boasts an extensive range of mics, preamps, outboard and plugins and offers a relaxed environment for recording and mixing.
